Prasanna LaghatePrasanna has been involved with Bay Area AIF chapter for almost a year and a half. Born in Pune, Maharashtra (a western state in India) Prasanna grew up in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh (a southern state in India) before returning to Pune to complete his Bachelors in Computer Engineering in 2000. Subsequently he moved out to Los Angeles, California to pursue a Masters in Computer Science at USC, graduating in 2001.
Having worked for a year at Inktomi (a web search and content delivery firm), he is currently busy (as a Team Lead) building out the world's largest On-Demand computing platform at Akamai Technologies.
His main motivation of being involved with AIF stems from having seen firsthand how relatively small assistance in monetary terms can have life changing effects in India.
