Samerth, Gujarat (2003), ($96,885)
The project supported activities like construction of wells, check dams, and land bunds in 15 villages of Kutch district of Gujarat. These activities helped the community to have year round access to drinking water, as well as cultivate a second crop in a year of normal rainfall. In some cases, it even resulted in a third crop, used just for fodder.
