Kuppam City

Basha
Basha is a 9th grade student of the Govt High School, Chandham. He is an intelligent student in his class. He was assigned with the task of preparing a project about his village. He set out on his mission with a team of 8 students behind him. They took a lot of pictures of the village landscapes and other picturesque scenes around. His teachers and friends were amazed to look at his artistic skills and precision in capturing the still photos. He soon became a professional photographer for the school and normally takes the snaps of all the proceedings of any social gathering or function at the school.

Shailini
Shalini is Studying in 9th Class at Z.P.Girls High School, Kuppam. Her father is running a small Agarbathi business. She learnt about computers very well. She clarifies doubts not only to the students but also the teachers about using computers.

One day she took her father to lab to show her works (Projects, Drawings} After seeing her interest in learning computers her father wants her to join Computer Engineering course after her schooling. She is also good at English. She is as good as an official English translator to the visitors at her school. She often sends mails, updates, projects to DE helpdesk. She has participated in summer camp in the school and in the camp she played the role of a teacher to the other students.

She always helps in all lab activities. She stays back after her regular schools hours to sit in the lab and work there for a long time to understand using the computers better.

Heena
Heena is studying in 10th class in Z.P.Urdu High School at Kuppam. She hails from an indigent family. She lost her father about three years ago and her mother is now working in a private school as a watch woman.

Heena is an intelligent girl and she learnt about computers very well in the school. She interacts with all visitors at the DE lab very vehemently explaining about what and how they learn in the DE lab. She even goes out of her way to train her comrades when they find it tough to comprehend. She is also interesting in Photography. Her ambition is to become a software engineer.

Rajya
Rajya Lakshmi hails from a poor family and her father, Sri.Venkatesan works in a stone quarry, basically as a day-wage laborer. The village, that she dwells in, is located about 3KM away from Kuppam. She involved herself in preparing a number of PowerPoint projects including one on agriculture with 3 other students in her group to assist her. She also took her teachers and friends and had a happy time taking snaps of the countryside, agricultural fields, ponds, etc.

The summer camps in Kuppam have been giving fantastic opportunities for the housewives of the communities to come and learn about the use of computers.
