MR. TOM THOMAS
Chief Executive, PRAXIS
Tom Thomas has been associated with Praxis for three years and is backed by a rich experience of 17 years in the area of development. Mr. Thomas has expertise of participatory methodologies in engaging and involving communities in development. He has led Praxis on several important assignments including Participatory Assessment of the Orissa Government, delivery of service commissioned by DFID, Participatory Poverty Assessment in Madhya Pradesh commissioned by ADB, Participatory Monitoring Project for Corporation of Cochin commissioned by DFID India, Andhra Pradesh Urban Participatory Poverty Assessments for DFID India, RCPLA workshop at Cairo, and Policy Research Training for Helpage International in Vietnam.
Prior to this, Tom was in ActionAid for 14 years in India, UK and Bangladesh and has worked from the grassroots level to senior management positions. In ActionAid he was involved in the education sector, developing curriculum at the elementary level using Montessori and playway methods, which is used for drop out and working children as well as for regular school going kids.
