DE Donors
AIF’s program strategy brings together a multitude of funding partners to share our investments. These partnerships help multiply the impact of our investment greatly.
The DE Initiative has mobilized a wide range of global and local organizations from the private, public (government) and non-governmental sectors. The global private sector has provided much of the initial program leadership, while international donors (including individuals, corporations, and foundations) have become substantial providers of funding resources and expertise. Currently, state governments are partnering with AIF, shouldering a majority of DE’s start-up costs, to promote extensive rollout of the program in their respective states.

Government Partners
One of the emerging key highlights of DE is the leading role of state governments in India - the governments of Punjab, Rajasthan, Orissa and Kerala in particular have played a critical role in opening their education system to reform, providing an overarching political leadership, paving the path for large-scale deployments and stepping in to fund infrastructure investments; this not only ensures local ownership and accountability but also facilitates the transfer of knowledge and capacity, scalability and eventual long-term sustainability of the program.
Program Partners
International and local NGOs (Ashoka, iEARN, NASSCOMM, Azim Premji Foundation) have contributed specialist expertise in education and teacher training, and plugged the DE initiative into important global networks.
Finally, academics, thought leaders, and prominent business leaders provide strategic counsel and guidance by serving on the program's advisory panel, ensuring that global best practices are incorporated.
