AIF Executive Team
Lata Krishnan, President
Lata Krishnan has been founding President of AIF since 2001. Lata is also CFO of Shah Management, a private investment company that manages over $300 million in assets. In 1989 Lata co-founded SMART Modular Technologies and served as CFO. In 1999, SMART merged with Solectron Corporation in a transaction valued at over $2 billion.
Previous to SMART, Lata held corporate accounting and finance positions in Montgomery Securities, Arthur Anderson & Company LLP, and Hill Vellacott & Company.
Lata received a Bachelors with honors from the London School of Economics and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Lata and her husband Ajay Shah live in Fremont, California. They have a daughter and a son.

Ms. Krishnan’s community activities include: Board Member of the American India Foundation, The Commonwealth Club, The Community Foundation, Silicon Valley, Fellow of the American Leadership Forum, Advisory Board positions for Narika (Shelter for Abused Women in the Asian Community) and for the Global Philanthropy Forum (World Affairs Council).
Pradeep Kashyap, Executive Director
Pradeep Kashyap has been the founding Executive Director of AIF since May 2001. Prior to joining AIF, Pradeep worked at Citigroup for 29 years, spanning a range of assignments in the Middle East, Canada and New York in the sector of trading, treasury and market risk management.
Born in Allahabad, India, Pradeep did most of his schooling in New Delhi. He received a Bachelor's degree from Bangalore University and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta. Pradeep and his wife Reena, live in Rye, New York. They have two sons.
Pradeep was seconded by Citigroup in May 2001 to run AIF. Since June 2003, he has been providing his services to AIF pro bono.
Shankar Venkateswaran, Executive Director - India
Shankar Venkateswaran joined AIF in June 2002 as the Executive Director – India, based in Delhi. Shankar brings 20 years of experience from the corporate and non-profit sectors. Prior to joining AIF, he was Chief Executive of Partners in Change, a pioneer non-profit organization in the field of corporate social responsibility. He also held various positions in UK-based Action Aid and was involved in appraising, building capacities and monitoring the work of its partner NGOs. Shankar is a graduate of the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras and the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta. Shankar and his wife Sandhya, live in Sarvodaya Enclave in south Delhi. They have a daughter and a son.
